HOW TO COMMUNICATE COMPANY‘S MYTHICAL PURPOSE AND WHERE TO FIND IT? – PRAM Consulting s.r.o.
To create a meaningful,
authentic, credible, and
powerful purpose statement,
thoroughly examine all four
circles of the picture. It is at their
intersection that you will find
your direction. In this process,
it is good to consider:
• What the world needs:
What specific, important,
and unmet needs exist in the
world? How critical is it to
address these needs? What
change will this bring about?
• What are the people in
the company passionate
about: What does drive the
people in the company?
What change do they want
to make in the world?
(These questions apply to
senior leadership as well as
to all employees.)
• What makes the company
unique: What are the unique
strengths that allow your
company to address certain
needs in a way that others
cannot? How does your
organization need to evolve/
expand to address selected
needs in this unique way?
• How can the company
create economic value:
what business opportunities
do arise from these
considerations? How
attractive are the associated
potential profit pools?
Can the company capture
enough of this value?
2. Anchor the
company’s purpose
in underlying human
needs.
In defining the company’s
purpose, it is critical to focus
on human needs, not the
products and services you
