4. Animal Protection:
“Pets are the new kids.” Con-
sumers love their pets. There’s
no denying it. Brands recognize
the importance and use their
platforms to prioritize animal
welfare. These influential cam-
paigns encourage adoptions,
care for wildlife, and even feed
hungry animals.
The following three topics
will join the previous four in
2024:
5. Civic Engagement:
Many of the candidates
for president in 2024 have
announced their candidacies
in 2023. Expect the brands to
help encourage nonpartisan
civic engagement and voting.
6. Public Security
Reducing damages caused
by citizens was a driving
force in Chicago’s contest
between mayoral candidates
in February 2023. This year,
it may also be one of the
challenges to mobilization.
The cultural transformation
of policing in America, gun
violence and the war in Ukraine
are driving civic discourse
globally.
7. Natural Environment:
The theme will continue
to have campaign value in
2024. As U.S. policy expands,
brands will find more reasons
to take positions on critical
issues. When addressing
environmental, social and
governance issues, brands will
reach multiple target groups.
ESG factors can be ill-defined
and vulnerable to recoil. Yet
there is a greater need than
ever for marketers to show how
their organizations are doing
good by doing good.
